Bio When she lays down South American grooves on guitar, audiences are hard-pressed to tell that Emily Pinkerton is a native of the Midwest. Born and raised in Valparaiso, Indiana, her musical education carried her to Valparaiso, Chile, inspiring a decade of immersion in Latin American music. 

Lyrical and hypnotic, her original songs merge the drive of old-time banjo with the rhythms of South American song. As a solo artist,  Emily has appeared at the Calliope Concert Series, Club Café, Garfield Artworks, Altar Bar, Frick Auditorium and other venues. As a violinist and singer, she toured nationally for two years with Divahn, an award-winning all-female acoustic quartet, performing at SXSW (TX), Makor (NY), Mulholland Nights (CA) and Cactus Cafe (TX).
